The Tide Must Turn

Don’t let the quick sands of life
Pull you struggling into their depths
But rather enjoy splashing free
In the crystal clear safety of the shoreline
Don’t let the crashing waves
Carry you helplessly away to sea
But rather spare yourself the buffeting
And bathe in the cool clear shallows
Beware of dangerous currents hidden
Lurking beneath the sapphire sea
But rather float upon the waves
Allow the horses white to carry you
Don’t court the excitement only found
Between the crimson flags a flutter
Wait patiently for safer times
And live to bathe in calmest blue
With child like wonderment
Enjoy the sand at your feet
The wind in your hair
And run freely on and on
Without a backward glance
Without regret
Tomorrow is another day
And the sea will still be there
