Standing on the outside
Blinking back the tears
Remembering the moments
Facing all my fears

Knowing this might happen
Didn’t help me to prepare
For the feelings I am having
For knowing I still care

Feeling like a stranger
Trying to be strong
Pretending nothing’s hurting
Pretending nothing’s wrong

Watching from a distance
Keeping my feelings in my heart
Knowing I can’t reveal them
Though they’re tearing me apart

Standing on the outside
Feeling such a fool
Love can be so painful
Life can be so cruel

Nothing lasts forever
Everything must end
Farewell to my lover
