No No Nonet
No
I said
Go to sleep
Not now I said
Enough is enough
No…stop it’s not funny
Get from under the covers
No… I said don’t tickle my feet
No… I didn’t say yes…well perhaps!

if only
Well it is one of my older poems!!!
No...No....Not...Now....Nonet![]()
This was my very first attempt at a nonet - it just makes me smile ![]()
Very Good!![]()
It was fun - someone suggested that I should experiment so I played with a few styles/forms.
hehe I will have to use that on Jen ![]()
Use it very carefully!
Perhaps is always good enough........ enjoyed it
Perhaps is good
Wonderful!
An upside down Nonet ![]()
I thought it was a right way up one?
Shows how much I know about structure!
Oh don't take my understanding as gospel! - I could well have remembered wrong.
It was a very long time ago that the memory came from!
I thought you started at one syllable and worked up. I guess you could do either
You could try one starting with nine syllables and reducing to one as well!
After you!

I'll give it a go tomorrow
I'm a bit too tired tonight ![]()

Yup - my bedtime too! ![]()
Nighty night, sleep tight, hope the bugs don't bite.

I hope you've stopped giggling now!!!
I'll probably giggle in my sleep and wake hubby up by muttering labilia !!
A nonet traditionally starts with the longest line, but I see nothing wrong with your style. I know more about nonets in music Schubert used nine musician on occasions there being no general rule the group would take turns in various combinations. the octet was more popular
I think I prefer your upside down style may try it myself if you will excuse the copying . No doubt you have seen the diamond shaped poems.
Ah thanks for that.
I prefer the build up that the "upside down" version gives.
I've seen the diamond shaped ones and written some reversible ones but I prefer not to be restricted too much by form.
I look forward to reading your upside down one
Read it from bottom to top
It works well both ways - thanks ![]()
