I don't wear slippers. Maybe just for that reason. Yes I don't see them as comfy just defeatist. May it's self-denial

I wear Birkenstocks around the house in summer

And Ugg boots in the winter.

The slippers in the poem are a metaphoric.

For me it's flip flops in the summer and Ugg type boots (pink) in the winter.

I lay there till 5, then got up - but at least I slept all the way from 11 til 4:30 - 5 and a half hours is pretty good for me!

This poem was a reference to someone settling for a cosy existance and certainly not me. I like running barefoot and still have desires - but that's another poem!
