My Mum versus Cosmic Ordering

There seems to be two very conflicting schools of thought. On one hand there's the concept of cosmic ordering. On the other hand there's something my Mum told me from a very early age "I want never gets". You know what they say - Mums are always right!

"I Want Never Gets"

I don’t want somebody’s cast off
I don’t want a hand me down
I don’t want something that no-one wants
That’s tossed upon on the ground

I don’t think that it’s a lot to want
Don’t think it’s asking much
To want someone who’s truly mine
And feel that tender touch

I want someone to call my own
I don’t want to play second fiddle
I want to be the first in line
Not piggy in the middle

I never got a second chance
I thought perhaps I might
But it seems that “I want never gets”
I guess the saying‘s right
