There's no point dwelling on what might have been. Life is far too short.
Perhaps it's because today is Fathers Day and the fact that my dad was only four years older than I am now when he died that I find myself in reflective mood. Who knows.
Tomorrow is another day - here's to a bright tomorrow.
Past Not So Perfect
I was part of your life
But no longer the present
We don’t have a future
Life isn’t as pleasant
We loved with an ache
And you sent me flowers
But tomorrow we know
Can never be ours
We’ve lost what we had
It will never come back
The rosy future we saw
Is now turning black
The past wasn’t perfect
We knew from the start
But we did what we did
With a love in our heart
A past not so perfect
A present bestowed
A future without you
Is lonely and cold
