No I'm not practising for the part of Mary Poppins. Today has been a lovely sunny (but breezy) day so I took my grandchildren to the beach. We had a picnic lunch and then flew kites. After a while they played in the sand and I couldn't help thinking how quickly they've both grown.
This is a poem I wrote when I daughter was expecting her firstborn.
The Child Within
Hush a-bye baby mine
Sleep in safety away from harm
Pretty thoughts I send to you
Loving thoughts of peace and calm
Hush a-bye baby mine
A perfect thing in a world of strife
Gentle thoughts I send to you
So you’ll be gentle all your life
Hush a-bye baby mine
Growing more each passing day
Kind thoughts I send to you
So you’ll be kind in every way
Hush a-bye baby mine
Soon your smile my world will light
Happy thoughts I send to you
So happiness will be yours by right
Pretty, gentle, happy and kind
Are but a few of what I’ll find
At the very moment night or morn
When hush a-bye my baby is born
So sleep in safety, grow in grace
Until that day I see your face

Oh Marian it`s lovely.
It`s made my legs go all `goose-pimply` (if you know what i mean!) and has brought tears to my eyes. I`m very touched.....thank you so much Sara xxx 25/3
