Since I started my blog in February I have come across so many very interesting people and made many new friends. This poem was inspired by a very special friend.

Talking with Ghosts

Why do you haunt my spirit so?
You come to me in the dead of night
You say that you cannot let me go
And that my hold on you is tight

Why do you taunt me playing games?
You wait for me by morning light
You say that you like to call me names
And jest with me and talk and fight

Why do you smile when you see a sign?
That I am here awake and bright
You say you’re glad that I am fine
And everything with me is right

Why do we talk like friends of old?
When we’ve yet to meet – don’t know
You say that we are very bold
To let our friendship grow and grow

Why is there a firm connection?
Between your spirit and that of mine
You say perhaps a true reflection
Of kindred spirits that intertwine

Why so many questions still to ask?
So much more to understand
You say you have still a further task
A challenge from another land

Why am I talking with a ghost?
Perhaps I’m mad, insane
You say we don’t stand a ghostly chance
Of being ‘normal’ once again

Why, perhaps our meeting in ‘Cyberland’
Was simply meant to be
You say you’re glad that we have met
Oh ghostly one and me
