I've just returned home from spending a few rainy days in London. One of the highlights of my visit was taking afternoon tea and cakes at Buckingham Palace. Well actually it was hot chocolate with orange and carrot cake from a kiosk in St James' Park. That said, I'm sure if I'd walked across the road to the palace, I would have been warmly welcomed by HRH.

I think it's great having blog friends in high places but my children aren't too sure!

Help

Our mother’s turned into a blogger
We’re really concerned - quite right
She sits and she sits at the computer
She’s blogging by day and by night
We thought perhaps help was needed
Sought advice from someone we could depend
But he said look “there’s really no problem
I’m a doctor but her blogging friend”!

We went for a second opinion
To a Harley Street shrink - yes the best
And we explained our fears and worries
And what did he answer – you’ve guessed
"I don’t quite know why you’ve come here
Don’t worry - your mother is swell
I’m not just a top notch consultant
But your mum’s blogging friend as well"!

We decided to take this thing higher
And went to the palace instead
The corgies let us over the threshold
You see they’re extremely well bred
The Queen said “sit down for a minute”
We explained we weren’t sure what to do
She said “I don’t know what’s your problem
I’m the Queen but I’m a blogger too”!
