Senseless
I see your face reflected in the firelight glow
Your smile smoulders in the dying embers
I hear your voice whispering in the evening breeze
Those loving words my heart remembers
I smell the sweetness of your presence
Your perfume fills the air around
I taste your lips as I sip my wine
Their ruby richness without a sound
I touch the air but you are gone
Those feelings once real now disappear
For one brief moment my senses reeled
Because I thought that you were here
What cruel tricks the firelight plays
Stirring emotions long since dead
Figments of a vivid imagination
Or a heart regretting words unsaid?
